Saint-Maurice Basilica ( 11th - 13th century )
This basilica was first built in the 10th century then chnages were made in the 13th century. Consacrated by the po Leon the 4th it then became an importnat place of pilgrimagefor the relics of Saint Goëry and it now shelters a wealth of furnitures. The church is a combination of different styles (rhenan, bourguignon, champions) . The Chapter District
A walk in the chapter district allows visitors to discover canonical houses from the 16th and 18th century and the setting of the old cloister. Not very far away is a remain of the medeval wall built with stoneware from the Vosges in the 13th century and in one of the tower is the historical and archeological museum of the town.
Place des Vosges
Notre-Dame-au-Cierge Built between 1956 and 1958, this contemporary building is made out of concrete and glass. * The chancel's glass wall : It shows the life of the Virgin Marie in 17 sketches, realized by Gabriel Loire a glass maker from Chartres. It's the bigger figurative stained - glass window of France. (with a surface of 180 m2) *The entrance portal is a real goldsmith's trade piece of work made glaze cloisonné on copper. The Saint Michel Chapter
This chapel's vaults are decorated with magnificent frescos (end of 15th century-beginning of 16th) picturing the Apocalypse.These are in the survey of historical monuments.
