Canoe

The water course of the Moselle shaped Epinal’s morphology. The water, the fontains and the water jets are creating a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere in a pleasant place. Separating the town into two banks, the Moselle allows a canoe trail right in town for the happiness of thrill seekers.

Planétarium

Unique in the area, “The Belle Etoile Planetarium” is a real popularization tool of the astronomy. A slide show and video screeninig adapted to the public (old, teenagers and young) is followed with a reading of the sky showing constellations, the movement and the positions of the planets.

Shows : on Wednesday at 2:30 pm, on Friday at 8:30 pm and the 2^nd and 4^th Sundays of the month at 5 pm. Closed in August, on special days and during Christmas and New year holidays. Show presented in French.

Cadet Rousselle

Play and picnic areas

There are many play and picnic areas close to the midtown : in the Marina , l’île-sous-la-Gosse and at the castle site. Other areas in  forests around Epinal are also layed out  for peaceful picnics : The Tranchée de Docelles and Bois de la Vierge.
